Language) series. Instead of the usual written blog entry I have the great pleasure of directing you to this interview/conversation with Professor Steven C. Hayes (University of Nevada, Reno) and Professor David Sloan Wilson (State University of New York, Binghamton). Steve is the founder/co-founder of Relational Frame Theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and has published more than 600 psychology articles and over 44 scientific books. He has recently been awarded Fellowship of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, alongside many other previous awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy, the Exemplary Contributions to Basic Behavioral Research and Its Applications from Division 25 of APA, and the Impact of Science on Application award from the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis. David is a Professor of Evolution Science and Biology who has been leading the move away from the limited belief in evolutionary theory being purely about genetics, and looks at many other systems of inheritance (e.g., symbolic thought, social learning, epigenetics). David’s books include Darwin’s Cathedral, Unto Others, and The Neighborhood Project. Their new book Evolution and Contextual Behavioral Science is out now. This conversation touches on many topics.
